Anthony Hartcher:

Welcome back to another insightful and exciting episode of me&my health up. I'm your host, Anthony Hartcher. I'm a clinical nutritionist and lifestyle medicine specialist. The purpose of this podcast is to enhance and enlighten your well being. And today, I'm doing this just for you, as the Year is coming to an end, and we're starting a new year in 2024. I wanted to share this insightful episode on finding your purpose. And it ties in with setting new year's resolutions. So yes, you've probably reflecting on 2023. And contemplating what went well, what didn't go was quite so well or quite to plan. And then you're thinking about 2024, what do I want to get out of 2024? Because the years fly by, you've probably realized that they just zoom past you. And before you know it, the year is over. So it's time to reflect on how did 2023 go for you. I just want you to think about that. Did us achieve the goals you set out to achieve? Did you exceed your expectations in terms of what you could achieve in a year? Or did you underperform, and there's no failure in this, there is no success in this. It is just a feedback reflective mechanism that you're embracing here. So what you're doing is checking in with what you set out to achieve at the start of the year and saying yes, did I achieve it? Or did I miss it, and then you reflect on what could go better next time. It's just a feedback mechanism to say, you know, if you did not achieve your goals, that the goals were either unrealistic, and you had a bit of a fantasy as to what you could achieve in a year. And we tend to overestimate what we can achieve in a year and underestimate what we can achieve in a decade. So let's get real for 2024 and set realistic goals. And I just wanted to touch on that failure and success. It is just a feedback mechanism. Both are so failure is that you either set unrealistic goals, or essentially you went down a path that probably wasn't the most efficient and resourceful way of achieving that goal. And in terms of success, well, you could have set too low of a goal and you over achieved it. Or you could have worked really hard and achieved a really tough challenge. But it's just letting you know you're on the right course you're heading in the right direction, because what we don't want to do is get ahead of ourselves and think I'm a hero, and then all of a sudden we get humbled from unexpected circumstances in the environment or someone around us. And that brings us back to being authentic. So we certainly just want to acknowledge that, yes, the year has been a good year, I've achieved my targets, I'm on track, I'm going to set some tough, you know, tough challenges for 2024. And now I'm going to go after them. But I'm not going to get ahead of myself and start igniting myself and you know, super inflate my ego. And yeah, so in distorting you know how good I am, it's not helpful, it's best to stay on path and on focus. And on task, when we get ahead of ourselves, we start to think I have achieved that. And we start to deep purpose ourselves. And we start to lose our purpose and our focus and our drive because we start doing things of lower priority because we've made it. So let's talk about finding your purpose, or setting realistic goals in 2024. And it really starts with your why and setting goals that are highest on your priority in terms of what's most important to you. And that's where I found typically where I've failed or failed, where I've got the feedback that, you know, I set goals that really weren't aligned to who I am and what I wanted to achieve. And I remember back in my 20s, I went to a personal development course by Anthony Robbins, and we did the fire walk, and we had to set what we wanted to achieve in life. And, and I was, you know, wanting to list a company and make lots of money, right? So I was just thinking, I want to find that startup and I want to make it big and list it. And that will be awesome, you know, it'd be the best. And it didn't really resonate with my heart. And hence I didn't take any action as a result of that personal development program. I took some action in terms of to get more educated in personal development. It started my journey around personal development, that course because I realized how much I didn't know about myself and about life skills. And so I said about obtaining those life skills and learning more about myself and having a better understanding of myself. And it's been a lifelong journey of doing that. But when I set that goal back then about you know, really wanted to list a company and how cool it would be and, you know, the firewalk symbolizes me breaking through that limiting thought pattern. I was essentially it didn't resonate with who I was and What I wanted to do, and I reflect back, and I think that's really what I got out of the course, wasn't the fact that I set this big, audacious goal of listing a company and you know, making a lot of money and retiring and doing all those things, I realized that really just didn't resonate. And I couldn't work out why, but it since reflecting back, I've worked out why that didn't resonate with me, because it's not aligned to who I am. So at the time, I was very focused on health. But I had this underlying thought that, yeah, I could do health, but I couldn't see a career path in doing health, as you can see now, and here now that I've found a career path in health and well being and I love doing what I'm doing now needs to remind me to get up and do a podcast or to deliver content every week to my followers, my listeners, and my viewers, because I just are so internally driven from within, whereas what I was chasing before when in my 20s, around, starting that business and listing it on the stock exchange was someone else I was chasing someone else's dreams, or I was comparing myself to other people that I perceived to be successful. And yes, they were successful in terms of what they valued most. They were doing what they valued most, but I was trying to be them. And it was I wasn't being myself. So hence why it didn't resonate with my heart. And it was when I really connected with my heart that I found my true purpose. So this gets back to my story. And I want to go way back, I want to go way back when I was a tiny little kid, because it really starts back when I was a tiny little kid and I was sick, I was really sick. I had these chronic ear infections, had that glue ear and I loved water, and I love playing in water with my friends. However, I hated the consequences of getting an earache because I was playing in water. So I had a fear of water yet I loved water, but I hated being sick from being in the water and getting ear infections. And so I had this chronic problem where I constantly have ear infections and have these pain all night where I couldn't sleep and I had this gooey stuff oozing out of my ear all the time is what I can remember. And I just didn't enjoy it. And then I went to doctors specialist ended up in hospital twice had two operations. Yes, it sort of ended, and that that really sick period. But I thought there was something more there was something more than I needed to do about my health I wanted. And that's something more was the empowerment side. Because when I went through the GP specialist, I felt so disempowered, I felt that I had no control of my health. And so it drove a deep deeps centered feeling from within, that I wanted to empower myself. And so from that days of being sick as a five, six year old kid, I then saw education around health, how can I be healthier? I was looking at diets in primary school, I was researching books on how to do fitness. Like I remember reading Arnold Schwarzenegger 's book, I remember reading the rugby league players book, Wayne Pierce on nutrition. And I was reading all these books at a very early age because I sought that empowerment. I wanted to take health in my hands. But I had no inclination that this was my highest priority. I just did it right. It was just automatic. It was sort of subconsciously. And then I was encouraged by my parents to follow a very traditional career path, get educated, get tertiary education, and be a good corporate worker, do well rise up in the corporate ladder, and then maybe refill, have a family and then retire at the end of it. And so as I started doing that, I did chemical engineering, I started to rise up the corporate ladder. But then as I was rising up the corporate ladder as much as I was into my work, I enjoyed my work, I was making the most of it, I always look for the brighter side of things. And it just there was something there about getting more money, getting more responsibility, and I still felt there was something missing. And then I was reflecting back what I really liked about my work was helping clients helping clients and solve their problems. And I was thinking I'm good at that. But what happened as I moved up the corporate ladder, I kept getting further removed from helping clients and I was more working with the internal politics and that drove me mental because I love being at the customer interface and solving their problems. But whilst I was on this career trajectory to rising up rising up and ultimately get to the highest point I can and that's a successful career, but it was just not fulfilling. I got to a point where I was in New Zealand running the quarry and construction business and it was great. I really enjoyed the autonomy and the responsibility and managing a team leading a team. Managing a p&l was great and I loved all the Kiwis I met Scott, one of the listeners is a kiwi and I met him in New Zealand as a result of doing this job and what happens When I was in New Zealand, I was talking to someone and they and I was talking about health and they said, oh, you should see Damian. Damian Kristof is an awesome naturopath and I was thinking it was Justine, Justine Lamb I was talking to and she was studying at the same university as Damian, and she saw Damian and got some help from Damian. And it was really helped her and I was talking about my health challenges, and she said, See Damian, and I thought, Okay, I'll go and see Damian, but hey, what does a naturopath do? I got no idea what a naturopath does. And they said, like a natural sort of Doctor, I thought, that resonates with me into natural ways and healing my self and educating myself and I thought, okay, naturopath, yeah, go and see Damian, and so on. I saw Damian. And we spent just the consultation him educating me on how I could improve what I was doing. And I thought, wow, this is really empowering. This is a practitioner that's empowering me, as opposed to me walking away feeling disempowered. He was educating me and empowering me. And I really resonated with Damian. So I kept seeing that mentor, for some help. And it was more about optimising my health as opposed to seek I needed help. It was more I just wanted this optimisation of my health. And Damian helped me greatly educated me and inspired me. I went to his seminars, the power of food, and I thought, wow, this is this is great, getting educated, learning more about food. And it was sort of, at that point, I thought, yeah, I could see myself doing this, but it really didn't do anything about it at the time. And it was until years later, I was in Australia back in Australia, doing a different job a different role. And with my wife, Adriana, and we weren't married back then we were dating and we went along to a chiropractic seminar. So we're seeing a chiropractor now in Australia, and they had this seminar and Damian guess who the guest speaker was, it was Damian. Damian was the star speaker, and he was speaking in this big auditorium. And I thought, I'm gonna go along, love to hear see Damian again, I really wanted to see Damian, again, I've heard the power of food talk. And then he got up on stage and made us all laugh. And it was very engaging and inspiring. And I thought, wow, that's really impactful. And then I thought, yeah, I couldn't really see I wasn't ready to do it, then. And then because I wasn't a public speaker. I didn't like doing public speaking. I was too nervous and anxious. And he was so natural and gifted and talented. And I think he's got a long way to go. And I don't know if I've ever will get there. But he's sparked my interest again, in natural health and empowering others, and educating others and helping solve their health problems. And so I caught up with Damian and Damian had a chat with Damian, a follow up chat. Remember, I was traveling for work, it was 4am in Perth, it was 6am in Melbourne, and he said, This is the only time I have free to talk to anyone, because I'm so busy. And I, you know, acknowledged that and respected that. So I did. I got up at 4am in the morning and was talking to Damian for him in the morning Perth time. And he was telling me about the neuropathy and where I should study and the best colleges and said to me, You sure you don't want to study chiropractic care? And I, at the time, I was just really focused on the neuropathy, because that's how I connected with him. It's funny now that I'm starting to think I can see why he was encouraging me to do chiropractic care back then. But only now and that's probably what is that that's either B 10. B close to 15 years ago, so well. 15 years. Yeah. So I did. I didn't follow Damian's advice and I looked up the natural health clinic but it wasn't open in New South Wales is only colleges in Queensland and Victoria and back then there was no online learning. It was all face to face learning back in the back in the heyday before the whole world turned online because of COVID. So I had to wait for the college to open here in Sydney. And I did that I got connected with them. They said yes, we're opening up we're just waiting for our approvals and actually started Day Zero with the college that opened here in New South Wales in the college. And I did eight years with them. I had no intention to do eight years. I started studying the neuropathy did about three years on the top with the switch to nutrition. I did complementary medicine in the meantime completed that finished with nutrition. And I got really empowered over those eight years of tertiary studies. And back then I started talking about my studies and started doing talks like Damian was doing for me in public libraries and shared workspaces. And I was just taking my lectures and what I was learning whilst I was studying and sharing it with others, and I really love doing it even though it was a bit nerve wracking. And I still couldn't build the confidence to do my own podcast, because I was thinking who would want to listen to me can If I didn't have that impostor syndrome anyway, so I just getting back to finding your purpose, I've been on a bit of a tangent, but I think you can see something here, there was an underlying drive from within me to spontaneity really do health. I don't know if that's a word, but I've just made it up if it isn't, and I was just doing it, I was doing health doing health, and I wasn't really conscious of it, that there was my highest value at the time. And it's only now that I can see that health is a really, really high value for me, and helping others is a really, really high value for me. And my family is a really, really high value for me. And so these three values is what I live by each day. And I've always, always make these my priority, these three things, and everything else is secondary to these top three priorities in my life. And so I think what I'm going to take you through now is a little exercise to help you find your priorities, what are you subconsciously doing all the time that you are undervaluing and comparing yourself to others and admiring their success, and I'm not acknowledging your success in the area that you value most. Because that is the area that you'll always see success and find success is that area you value most. So I've had great health ever since I was a sick kid. And there's no turning back. Because I keep educating myself, I'm doing over 500 hours a year, in terms of health education. And it doesn't require any extrinsic motivation. I just do it. I love it and do it all the time. And I can't get enough of it. So let's start there. I want you to write down now. And if you're listening, just just to think about this. What is it that you're constantly educating yourself in? That you just always do? You're constantly looking for education in this area? What is that area? And no, no doubt that you're invested in health, otherwise, you wouldn't be listening to this podcast? Because this podcast is an entertaining, as much as I'd love to be an entertainer and attract more followers. It's educational. And so you value health education, that's a value of yours if you're listening to this podcast, so that's a high value is health, and empowerment and education, because that's what I do for you. So that's a really high value. That's what you get educate. What else do you seek education on what else you constantly looking to empower yourself, maybe it's in how to raise really healthy and, and thriving children, maybe that's another area that you're constantly reading books or seeking education on. And so then, therefore, family is a high importance. And so you'd list family, or you might be always looking to educate yourself around financial health. So financial wealth, and that could be you're looking like you also listen to financial podcasts on how to invest money, how to budget, how to save, or those sorts of things. So therefore, finances is important to you. But then also think why is finances important to you? So then ask that secondary question as to why is this important to you? Why is financial free? Like, is it freedom? Is it that what is that what money brings to you? Freedom? So is it more finance, education is the vehicle to having more freedom, and to be able to choose what you do? Is that what you value more? Is that the freedom but he asked yourself, what is financial education do for you. So for me, it enables me to do what I do, because this podcast doesn't make money. So I obviously look to educate myself around investments in order to be able to sustain the time that I invest into the podcast, because the podcast is where I give, and I give free education around Holistic Health. However, it takes up a lot of time, and I don't get paid to do it. So I do I seek empowerment around my finances, because I don't want to be just working for money. I want money working for me, and I want to be able to do what I love. And that's that helps by having their financial education. So yes, it's probably a fourth priority for me is financial education. But it was a hot it because depending on where you feel that you lacked the most like when I lacked health the most as a kid, it drove my hierarchy of my values at the time, and it stayed there. It really stayed there because I never wanted to go back to that sick point. So if you've had voids with, you know, it could be a financial void, then finances now at this point in time could be really a high priority for you. So for me it is because I've got a mortgage and interest rates have been rising rapidly. And so I'm thinking Well, we need to be able to pay these rapidly rising interest rates. And so what I've been doing is working even harder than I normally do to make sure that I bring in more money to pay off the interest rates. And so I've, it's probably so finances is probably crept up higher on my values, because it's really important that I have a roof over my head for my family. So that has crept up. And it's because of the circumstances because of the rising interest rates I've really focused on well, you know, coming off fixed rates and going on to variable, then I'm going to have to do something about that. And so it's bringing in more income. And I've also been cutting costs. So I've been looking at where I can cost us, you know, cut costs. And so recently, I put my gym membership on hold, I love going to the gym, however, because it's summer, I'm going to do more outdoor training. So I thought, okay, I can save money there. So I've put my gym membership on hold. And I'm going to do more ocean swimming, more resistance training in parks, keep my karate going. And so I'm still going to exercise, but I'm going to do it more outdoors and do different forms of exercise. And that's going to save some money not paying the monthly gym membership. So that's one area education. So what education you're constantly seeking, how do you spend your time? That's like, what do you just subconsciously just do every day that no one needs to remind you to do it. Or they don't need to pay you, you just do it. It's something that you are intrinsically motivated within to do. And I know for Scott, the listener, it's exercise, he's intrinsically motivated to do exercise. He doesn't go a single day of his life without exercise, because Exercise and Health are a top priority for Scott. And that's how I met Scott was through exercise. We bumped into each other in the ocean, in Auckland, in the harbor, actually, Auckland Harbour swimming. And that's how we met. And we've maintained that relationship. And yeah, Scott's a Fantastic Fan of the podcast and just shouting out to you. Now Scotty, love having you as a listener, and I value your constant feedback on the podcast. So thank you, Scotty. So what is it that you do every day in terms of spending your time or could be a number of things that no one needs to remind you to do? Like, what is it, if something happened, you drop everything for that, for example, I know people that work, if kids aren't sick, then they're going to drop all the work that meetings, and then they'll go and support their kid because their family or their children are a higher priority than their work. Some people on the other hand, will delegate that saying, I can you go and pick up my son, he's sick, or my daughter, they're sick, and take them home or take them to the doctor. And some people will delegate it because it's a lower priority. And the higher priority is their work. And there's no wrongs or rights. It's just who the person is. It's what intrinsically drives them. It's what their purpose is. And so that person finds huge purpose in their career. And their family could be secondary, but there's no judgment towards that, because that's just who they are. We need to respect each other for who, who we are if everyone was living by what's most important to them. And they also respected other people's values, and understood that they had a different hierarchy of values, and we didn't judge them and said, oh, you should be doing health or you should be prioritising your family over your work. If then we'd have greater respect for one another. That way, we wouldn't be looking down on other people. Or, on the other hand, we also wouldn't be looking up to people will see everyone is equal. And imagine that, when we're seeing everyone around us is equal. And we have total and utter respect for everyone around us. How fantastic that would be. So let's get this get back to what is it you're constantly spending your time doing that no one needs to remind you to do how do you feel your space is the next question. How do you fill your space around you? So what do I mean by that? What's constantly within a meter of you within a hand within arm's length of you? So for me, most of the time, we've got a computer and why. So you got to ask that secondary question, because it's not the computer that I'm connected to. It's what I can do on your computer. So the computer enables me to do this podcast. It enables me to enhance and enlighten your well being which is my mission. And so having the computer near me, enables me to stay connected with you. Help my clients, help my followers, educate, empower, and it also I get I do my education on my phone or on my computer, so my computer and phone always close to me. And the reason why is because I stay in contact with my family by my phone. I use the computer to record these podcasts, and also to help my clients support my clients and to do webinars for my corporate clients. So that's why the computer is important to me. I don't like computers, otherwise, I'd much rather be exercising or adventuring outside than in front of a computer. But because I value health and in also value empowering others health, your health, there are two top high priorities for me, hence why the computer and phone occupy that space close to me. Okay, what else occupies my space? Well, my children and my wife, my family are occupying that meter space. And so they're really high value and high importance to me. So that's pretty much my top three. So what are your top three items that occupy your space? And why do you have them around you? What do they enable you to do? Or how does it fulfill you? It's the same with time how you spend your time? What are you doing? And what is it specifically that you're doing? Is it that you're exercising? What is it about exercise that's important to you? Is it because you value your health? Or is it a particular sport? That's a really high value to you? Or is it that you exercise because of the social side of things and their health? So maybe you're doing two values, you're combining two high priorities at once, socially, and healthily, you're doing the exercise. That's why you're doing it. So that's how you spend your space or how you fill your space. Not you spend your time. But fill your space. Now it's looking at what are you constantly thinking about what occupies your mind? I know for my wife, Adriana, her mind is constantly occupied by her family and her friends. That's the height and food of course, they're their top three highest values, food, family and friends, I don't really know that border, depending on whether she's hungry or not. So food will certainly go to number one if she's hungry. Otherwise, it's probably family and friends. So what are you constantly thinking of? So for me, I'm constantly thinking about my education, doing more education, understanding what I'm learning, being able to then disseminate that to you? How do I share that with you? Or who do I interview to help disseminate that information to empower you? I'm also thinking about my own health and thinking about my family's health, thinking about my clients health, of course. So these are the things that I'm constantly thinking about, what do you think about and internalise a lot, and it but you're can also see, this is part of your vision, too. It's, it's what you visualise internally as well. So this manifests into your vision as to what you want. What what do you see as your desire or your not desire, but your, I guess your your goals? What are your goals that you internalise. But the important thing here is that you also see them, you see evidence of them actually coming true. So it's not a fantasy, a fantasy is something we wish, but we don't see any evidence in reality, that we're actually getting anywhere close to that fantasy. Whereas a real goal, or real internal vision, is you see evidence you're getting close to there. So for me with enhancing and lightening the well being of others, how do I know I'm getting closer there? The KPIs I look at is my listeners, my viewers on my YouTube channel, social media following the amount of engagement in these areas as well? Are people engaging with the content that I'm sharing my Patreon platform? Are they engaging in that content? And so for me, and, you know, are they listening how much they listened to. And so these are the important metrics for me, because I want to empower and enlighten your well being, that's my mission statement. That's what drives me every day. So I'm looking at ways in which I can constantly see that I'm adding value in that area in that matrix. I'm also doing more interviews on other podcast channels, because that also helps me achieve my mission, which is enlightening the well being of others. And so I've been doing that through getting on an interviewing as guests on other people's podcasts. So if you listen to another podcast, and it's health related, and you think, oh, Anthony would be a fantastic guest on that, please reach out to me and connect me with that podcast host. I would love to be connected or even just say have you thought about being a guest on this podcast and I will reach out and see if I can get as a guest or become a guest on their podcast, because I really want to keep The Matrix ticking over in terms of enhancing and enlightening the well being of others. So what is it that you visualise internally that you constantly see that matrix, you know, like for Scottie around his exercise, it measures himself on his his times his performance, and his mastery of whatever he's doing around his exercise. And so that's how he can tell him that he's improving. And that and that he's constantly getting better in that area. And he visualises a certain way in which he wants to perform, and so is, am I tracking towards that? So what is it that you visualise internally that you can see coming true, in reality, that you can see you're making progress towards? What is it that you extrinsically Talk about constantly like, so for me, I'm constantly talking about health and I, on these episodes, I go on and ran for ages, right? Because I love talking about health, the time just stands still, for me. I don't feel like that I'm talking for a long time until I look at the clock and think, oh, wow, I don't know if you'd be listening anymore. So but what is it? Where Time Stands Still for you? Where it actually, it doesn't feel like it's moving. You're so in the moment. But But and then you realise it is but it just the time went so quickly. But just because you're so present, so that gives you that sense? What are you doing like for Scotty it's probably exercising, doesn't even know he's exercising, or he's done three hours or four hours of exercise. Because he loves riding, he loves bike riding a good bike ride for days and no effort. It's just gets in the zone. It's really helps bring presents to him. And he's doing what he loves. And he's seeing new things and adventuring. And so what is it that you do that gets you very present and centered, because that is important to you. Because we get very pressed, we only get distracted in the areas that are low priority for us. So wherever you get distracted, that's a reminder to you that it's a low priority, and you need to get back to high priority, you need to get back to what gets you present. So this gets me present, this is a high priority. I'm very present when I'm doing this. But when I'm driving a car, or I'm doing something else that's of a low priority, like so, for example, if there's people going to a pub and just drinking and drinking lots of alcohol, that doesn't really spin my wheels because I don't drink. I don't like that sort of drunk talk. Or, you know, for me, I like having deep conversations. Yes, some deep conversations can come from alcohol, but they're probably more people getting their emotions out. It's probably more therapy. But I like the deep conversations were talking philosophy. You know, this deep understanding of life and the meaning of life and all those sorts of philosophical conversations. That's what I really liked doing. But and so what is it that you constantly like talking about, that you become an extrovert people can't shut you up, or you guide conversation into that area, because you like talking about it? Or someone raises the topic, you spark up and they can't shut you off? So what is those topics that you love talking about? Because they're really important to you, because it's how you externalise it, you put it out into the world, I'm putting out my health education to the world through this podcast. And so that's what I like talking about all the time is health. I like empowering others in their health and well being. So what is it that you externalise? Where do you spend your money? So what do you spend your money on? So recently, I brought another microphone for my podcast. So I spend money on my audio visual equipment, because it enables me to deliver good quality content. So I'm always looking to up the quality of my content to you because it's important to me. So where are you spending money and why are you spending in in that area? Some like the other I spend money is on my health. So I spend money on supplements, I spend money on doing fitness training, you know, in terms of karate, and formally it was the gym membership and I'm saving money there and doing some other variations of exercise I don't have to pay money on but where are you spending your money? And it's generally we focus our money on in spending in areas like some people will spend buy a lot of clothes. And why do they buy a lot of clothes because their physical appearance is important to them. They value their physical appearance, so I don't spend money on clothes. I buy a few work shirts because I want to look professional, but I don't really value clothes. Yes, I want to look professional, but I do that because it enables me to I guess, you know it builds credibility helps me look like I know what I'm talking about. If I just like a DAG, and you can imagine you'd sort of be questioning is this person educated? But you get a man. It's just perceptions. So where are you spending your money? So think about where you spend your money. So if I'm not spending my money on my education or on my business, then I'm spending it on my children on my wife. So there are other areas that are important to me. So where else are you spending money on the money that I save, I invest that money, because financial freedom is important to me, because it enables me to do more of this. So that's why financial freedom is important to me. That's why I'm constantly investing the money I save, so that money can work for me. So where are you spending your money? So that that will also help you determine what's important to you. So let's recap in terms of where you're getting educated, where you keep seeking constant education, how you feel in your space, what's around you within a meter? And why is that within a meter? How do you feel your time? What do you spend your time doing? That no one needs to remind you to do that. What are you internalising, in turn in terms of what are you constantly thinking about? And what is it that you visualise internally, that you can see coming through in in reality? What is it that you like talking about externalising? In terms of what conversations do you like getting engaged in? What is it that you like talking about? Where do you like spending your money? What things do you spend your money on, because we spend our money on things that are important to on things that we value? Because subconsciously we do that? I don't spend my money on things that aren't of high value to me. So I don't value clothing other than for business, right? So I spend very little on casual clothing. It's probably why when I'm casually dressed, I look like a dag. So where are you spending your money? Because on these areas, they're very important to you. Okay. So start, then what is common across all those areas that you looked at what is common, what is popping up all the time across those areas, and then you want to look at those areas that keep popping up? What's high priority for you, they are the areas that are really important to you. And so then what you want to do is set goals in those areas of priority. So I only set goals around my business, and it's all about me fulfilling my mission statement, how can I serve more people and empower them in their health, and help them achieve their health goals? So that's one area I set goals in? The other area I set goals in? Is my own health, how can I improve my own health? So I'm looking at how to improve my sleep, how to improve my nutrition? How do I improve my emotional health? How do I improve my mental health? How do I improve all areas of health and well being? Because that's the other area I value? How do I, you know, connect, have built my connection with my family? How do I, how can I better facilitate that connection. And obviously, to facilitate that connection, I need to understand their values, and help them achieve what's most important to them. Because then that's the greatest asset I can be to others is when I'm helping them fulfill what's most important to them. And it's probably why you continue to listen to this podcast, because I'm adding some sort of value, you value health, and I'm helping you fulfill one of your values, and hence why you follow me or listen to me. Otherwise, you wouldn't, you wouldn't, you wouldn't bother if if you didn't value your health, you wouldn't be tuning into this podcast. So I want you to start thinking about setting objectives for the new year in these areas of priority. Don't worry about setting objectives anywhere else. And particularly looking, you know, thinking are like if you don't value your physical appearance, then you're going to be doing things that are most important to you. And they could be socialising, they could be hanging out with friends. So you're always going to value that as opposed to worrying about how you're looking or about your physique or something like that. So, again, if you want to improve your health, and it's not a high priority, then what you can do is link health to what's most important to you. So how does health help you better socialise? Well, you're not carrying viruses and you're not infecting your friends. And so by being healthy and maintaining your health and enables you to spend more time with your friends, more quality time with your friends, and so that's one way in which health is linked to you fulfilling what's most important to you if you value socialising, but not so much your health. How does health help you achieve your other areas that are important to you? So if you're consider yourself a strong you know, like parenting is a high value to you being a good parent, then how does health help you be? Eat the best parents? Well, if you're in your best state of health, then you can better care for your children, you can better guide and lead your children. And so how else does health help you fulfill that area of parentally. And then what you'll find is that you can see how health helps you helps fulfill your highest values. And then you'll have a drive to do health because you can see that direct linkage and it's the same with work, what you want to do is reconnect with Why did you ever start with that organisation that it did, it helped fulfill some values. Now I worked for an organisation that doesn't fulfill their values, or fulfill some of their values. So think back as to what is it about your organisation that you work for? How does it help you fulfill a value of yours. So for example, you might be in a role that requires a lot of travel and you love traveling, you have always a high value to you. So work helps facilitate that aspect of travel, and it saves you money doesn't come at a cost to you, your company's paying for your travel. So you can start seeing these linkages and start looking for more linkages as to how work, the work you're doing. And the specific tasks you're doing for that organisation is helping you fulfill what's most important to you around your priorities. And the more linkages you can find, the more you'll spontaneity, ly do work and not have the Monday morning blues, the Wednesday hump days. And thank God, it's Fridays sort of thinking. So you can get more connected with your work through linking it to what's highest on your values and how it helps. And for some people, it can just be the connection, because the thing I missed about the you know, my previous corporate role was the people I really enjoyed the people I worked with, and I missed those, you know, that was sort of the thing that I missed, but I don't well, and also having that consistent income, you know, is something I sort of started to miss initially. But obviously now as I'm more established, that's less of a void. And so, but yeah, so it can be the social aspect of it, that that you're surrounded by people that you like hanging out with, and you have a good time at work. So it could be that it helps fulfill that sense of meaning and purpose that you're working together with a team that you like working with. And you've got a common purpose, a common goal to achieve with that team. And so that can be very fulfilling, or it could be what your organisation does for society, that's very fulfilling to you, it makes a difference. And all organisations make a difference. They're all filling a need in society. So they're all a value to someone in society, Otherwise, they wouldn't exist, they wouldn't be in business, the only way you can be in business is if you're filling someone else's needs. And so they're fulfilling their customer needs, no matter what business it is. So I want you to just to have that reflection, and then to really set goals in the areas that are most important to you. Because that is where you'll continually get the feedback that you're on track. And that you feel that you're achieving some level of success that because you're constantly getting this feedback is that you're making progress towards it. So at the start of 2023, I set a goal that I wanted to do more group education, because I wanted to have more reach to people. And I did us pretty much spent the year most of the year doing webinars, doing live events, educating groups empowering more people. And so I did I said about that at the start of the year. And I was doing that throughout the year. I also set a goal, and I mentioned that earlier is that I wanted to be a guest on other people's podcasts so that I could help more people. And I did I saw that coming through and manifesting throughout the year. I also wanted to grow my YouTube following, because that's another way in which I can leverage these podcast recordings, because I videoed them. So they're also on you available on YouTube. And I also have my webinars on YouTube. And so I wanted to build that following and that following on YouTube's been growing and the viewing ship is growing on YouTube. So I'm having more and reaching more ears. And more people are seeing me through all these different mediums. I also introduced another social media channel, Pinterest, so I'm on Pinterest now, because I know other there's 400 million people on Pinterest. That's another whole market that I can connect with even a portion of that is just me enhancing and enlightening the well being of more people. And that's my mission. So that's what I'm going to set out to achieve next year is how can I do this to another level? How can I get reached to more people and I'm thinking of a TED talk. So I'm thinking, maybe I'll do a TED Talk that will give me more reach and more, you know, connect with another, you know, the Tiktok watchers and viewers and whatnot. So I'm looking at doing that in 2024. So watch this space And I'm also going to be inviting more inspiring, and insightful guests. Not that you've asked, you've had lots of awesome guests, but I'm going to continue to find them for you in 2024, and particularly around quantum health, because that's an area that I got on to probably around the middle of this year, I think it was. And I've been educating myself in quantum health. So it's getting below them and molecular level down to the subatomic level, and understanding health from that perspective. And I'm finding that amazing, so expect a lot more around quantum health, quantum healing, in terms of 2024 guests. So I have an episode that you may have heard, and it is on light, it's on light therapy. And that is the start of my, I guess, series on quantum healing. And that was with Nathan Siles. So listen to that it was released on the 12th of December. So it's a recent episode. So go and tune into that and start inspiring yourself around understanding this healing at a quantum level. It's amazing. And I'm also here for you in 2024. If you want more assistance in terms of finding that purpose, or be able to, you know, understand your values, and then set goals around what you value most. Please reach out to me I'd love to be of assistance and helping you find your purpose and get on track or get back on track. And then help establish you so that you set meaningful goals and KPIs which you can measure whether you're on track throughout the year. So reach out to me if you're wanting some support for 2024, I'd love to be of service. And I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank all the people that have listened to the podcast in 2023. And continue to listen to the podcast, or really appreciate every listener, or your ears and eyes. On this episode. I really appreciate your putting your health first is probably the most important thing to me, but but also the feedback you give me and the inspiration you give me through providing that feedback. So thank you, for all the listeners and viewers. And I'd also love to thank my support team had amazing team from Yugorithm. Yugorithm do all my podcast editing my social media, they do a fantastic job. So I'd like to thank all the team. I'd like to thank Novee, my VA, she is doing an amazing job in terms of making sure that these episodes published every week and keeping the team on task. She's incredible assistance. She's also doing some amazing social media work and assistance there. So thank you, Novee! I'd also like to thank the editors. So Enzo, I'd like to thank Kevin, you're amazing in terms of your podcast, editing, audio, and visual, I really appreciate the reels you've produced for social media and Agatha, I'd like to thank you for choosing those timestamps for the reels and also making the social media work so seamlessly. I really appreciate it your work Agatha. I'd also like to thank Yuri, who's the head of yoga rhythm, you have been amazing in terms of just connecting me with the right people to help grow my business. And so this has also enabled me to focus on my higher priority so that every day for me is fulfilling. So I don't do these, like editing is a low priority for me. But so Enzo. And so Kevin, love doing it, and inspires them. So late love doing the podcast editing, I love doing the talking and the education. So this is how you can really make your dreams work by focusing on your priorities, and delegating everything else, to people that love doing the things that you don't like doing. So that's another tip for 2024. And I actually embrace that tip myself in 2022, I think I really started to embrace that. And I saw the success of embracing that in 2023. Because I was focusing on my higher priorities, and delegating lower priorities to the people that love doing those lower priorities. And that that is very fulfilling, because you stay on priority. You do that what's most fulfilling to you delegate everything else, and you're only doing things that inspire you, or the tasks inspire you. And so you have very fulfilling days, by living by priority and delegating everything else. That's a low priority. So do that I suggest you do that in 2024. Start doing it, start delegating those low priorities and stick to priority. And if you need help in in order to find those priorities, reach out to me, I'd love to be of assistance and have a fantastic 2024 Look forward to bringing more insightful episodes to you on me&my health. And please reach out and give feedback throughout the year. I'd love to hear from you. Thank you
