Anthony Hartcher:

Welcome back on me&my health up podcast. I'm your host, Anthony Hartcher. I'm a clinical nutritionist and lifestyle medicine specialist. The purpose of this podcast is to enhance and enlighten your well being. And today, I'll be doing that just for you. We're going to be talking about why you can't lose weight. What is it that these weight loss companies are not telling you about? And what is it that you can do about it is essentially what I'm going to be sharing. And the reason why I'm sharing this is I see it time and time again, is that the weight loss companies know that people are looking externally for solutions to solve their own issues. And the the way to solve it comes from within. And that's the approach that I see the best results is helping the person actually see it from within and know that they can control in terms of what they eat, and what they do, and that they're in the driver's seat. And it's not up to someone else. It's not up to the government, it's not up to the medical fraternity, it's not up to these weight loss companies. It's essentially it's up to us to actually resolve the issue. And the other big factor that is often overlooked is the fact that it needs to be individualistic, everyone is completely unique and different. We are magnificent, human, unique individuals. And we need to actually find something that works for us. And so as much as I can personalize diets to really help someone like sort of find the foods that are really going to resonate with their body and foods that they can eat consistently. And regularly. The thing is, I can share that and give them these great plans. However, they can easily get off the wagons fall off the wagons because of these outside distractions or external factors. And essentially, if I can help shift the way they thinking and us and empower them to ask better questions, they have better foresight as to how to better manage and navigate through the external world. And they can actually perceive what they're not perceiving in that moment by actually asking themselves a better question. And I came across this work through a guest of mine, Dr. John Demartini, who came on the main my health that podcast, and what I learned was essentially, we can only control three things. And that's our perceptions, our decisions and our actions. And so I'm going to be talking about some questioning that you can do to really get back in the driver's seat, get back into that self governance, that self mastery, and really, essentially make better decisions in terms of take you towards your goals, your objectives. And I'm going to break this down into five areas. So essentially, it's that first area, not one size fits all. So I'm going to talk about that uniqueness about how you need to construct something that's going to work for you. I'm going to talk about knowing yourself ik getting to know yourself, it's so important that self reflection and really understanding what are the drivers what's driving us off the wagons, what's making us fall off tracks, essentially, where we start off on the right track, and then all of a sudden, we're falling off. So I'm going to help you with some questioning, you can ask to better know yourself. And also I'm going to talk about values which are learned through Dr. Demartini's book Values Factor and since it is his programs, and got further educated in this area of values, and knowing what's important to you and truly aligned to your authentic self. And so knowing those self is essentially becoming your authentic and now no one else not trying to be someone else is then essentially becoming the essence of who you are by knowing what's important to you, and living by what's important to you and not living by people pleasing. And I actually found out another term, which I didn't really know about it was about this foreign. So foreign is also classified under that stress response, which is that fight flight freeze, and fawn and fallen is essentially we're walking on eggshells, and we essentially too scared to lose that person or get rejected. So essentially, we people please and we just do excessive people pleasing. And that's a stress response. That's a stress response essentially, in terms of I don't know my direction, I'm bit worried if I start to be myself, I might lose some money. And again, it's very much in that system. One's thinking that Dr. Demartini refers to or in terms of the MBA it's referred to as auto one thinking and essentially this process of questioning will take you to order to or systems to thinking and essentially it gets you out of that fight flight freeze that really survival instinct or impulse and out of that desire center, the emotional center and really into that level of leadership and having that foresight being able to have a yes see your strategic vision, see where you want to be in the future. Be Able Have a plan and plan objectively and essentially execute those plans with self governance, self mastery, and you're essentially centered and poised and confidence. And so you have highs, you know, really, you're very authentic, probably not the right term in terms of high self esteem, because that's going beyond the other direction as then you get too proud, you're not essentially aligned to who you are. So when we get to prayer, we look down on others, essentially, that's not the way to be, it's essentially we're all equal. And we should be striving for not judging others and putting them down and putting us up. And that's where the pride comes into it. So essentially, it is being authentic you. So that is essentially that knowing yourself, then the other area I want to talk about is loving yourself, okay. And essentially, you need to know yourself, in order to love yourself, you need to know who you are, in order to how can you love yourself if you don't actually know who you are. And essentially, the whole process of getting to know yourself enables its innate and enabler to you to be able to love you for who you are the whole you. And then it's just essentially acting out acting out, it's just being who we are being authentic is the other area I'm going to talk about. And lastly, I'm going to talk about a key areas don't comparing yourself to others, because again, that's when we're judging where they're putting ourselves down and putting them up, or we're putting them down and ourselves up, just like I spoke to before. So let's start with x, it's got to be completely unique and individualized to you. It's because you have a completely unique set of genes, okay, and you've been brought up with different exposures to different life experiences, different influences, different social influences, different parental influences. And these are all having an impact on the decisions you make today, the behaviors your exhibit. And essentially, you need to start to understand that you are different to others. And what we want to do is actually just be ourselves, and being ourselves is actually showing our uniqueness and not trying to be like someone else. And this gets back to my last point I just mentioned was that comparison. And again, we're not being ourselves, when we're comparing ourselves to others and comparing our actions and our abilities to theirs. What's the point of that it's absolutely futile, because essentially, they're completely unique and different. And we're always going to have those differences. So we should actually focus and really in like, showcase to the world, our specialty, okay, what we're really good at. And essentially, I came to realize this, as I was going through my corporate career, and thought this is not really I don't feel, I don't feel part of this, it's just not me, it was something missing. And there's something missing was me not being authentic, to what I love. And now I'm embracing what I love. And I feel very centered, very poised, I'm recording this on a public holiday. And I love doing it. It's not this is not work. This is something that I'm on a mission to, you know, enhance and enlighten your well being. And I'm more than happy to actually it's not a sacrifice. So that's a bad, bad word to put to what I'm doing today. I am, this is my vocation. Okay. And Dr. Demartini mentioned, you know, you're, you know, you're on the right path is when your vocation becomes your vacation. So today, I'm on vacation, doing what I love. So it was when I really connected to what I love, which is health, and then went about studying in that area. And I love doing the study in that area. When I studied my first degree chemical engineering, it requires effort, and I was looking for that external motivation, you know, some days I just couldn't get into it, I just wasn't inspired. And I actually found some links that really helped me. So I was linking it as to if it now if I do this subject, I'll be better able to understand science and better are able to understand the world and I was able to then relate it to my health and and so I was able to find some linkage as to what I was studying to how it helped me ultimately a better person, I saw it as obviously getting a career as well, and some credibility or some, I guess some more letters next to my name, that was the other thing and that sort of, again, wanting to fit in. So not wanting to, you know, stand out just sort of fit in, you know, I've got my name with some letters next to it. So I did my chemical engineering, but when I went and studied health later on in life, it required no motivation. I was totally inspired from within. And it was just really I just looked forward to actually doing my study doing the assignments, doing the exams, it was just in us in a state of flow because I was doing something that was truly me. It was a high value of mine and I started to be myself as opposed to trying to please others. And I mentioned that foreign term, which is essentially when we're people pleasing and that's what I was doing. So I thought if I did chemical engineering, I'd get my parents love but you ended up realizing that your parents love is unconditional, you'll get it anyway. So why not just be you. But again, it's sort of wanting to think, well if I do this or make them love me, but they still love me as a healthy man. So it really didn't matter. But it was that perception again, I said, the only things we can control is our perceptions, our decisions and our actions. So in terms of that uniqueness, it's really about you just showcasing to the world, what you love what you love doing, like I do with health. And so what wakes you up in the morning that you're truly inspired from within, and you just spontaneously do on an everyday basis, and you can see progress in that area. I always saw progress in the area of health, I was always training, no one needed to tell me to train, I'd always find time, regardless of where I was traveling in the world. I remember getting up at like 330 in the morning, because I had an early flight just to fit a run in just to get a run in knowing that I was going to be traveling all day, and our exercise was really high value to me. So I just made it happen. So what is it that you spontaneously do and you can get up at 330 in the morning and be inspired to do it without anyone reminding you hey, you need to go for a run it for me it was just within it was something that no one needed to motivate me or reward me for I was totally inspired from within. So what is it that you do on a daily basis that you just spontaneously got that initiation to do and and when you're doing it, it energizes you. So I always love exercising, I feel so much energy, I feel, you know, in a good state of flow and clarity, I have mental clarity. And when I'm doing this, I actually don't really get into it. As you can probably tell from my voice. It's something that I feel it's really just the flow comes in terms of the words, I don't have a script, I sometimes look for the words, and hence when the when I say an AMA or are essentially I'm looking for the words or looking to get back into my flow. However, it does just flow for me in terms of creating an episode. And same with when I'm interviewing, I don't have a precise script of questions or predetermined set of questions. I'm going to ask the person I allow myself to get into a state of flow and then think what would the listener ask next? So that's how I run my interviews is thinking if I was a listener, what would I ask next? And essentially, that's what I do within the interview. And I allow the person to really showcase their talent. I'm not wanting just you know, it's not about me, it's about them. And so allowing them to showcase to the world what they're really good at, and that's empowering you whereas I know some people like to step in and talk about you know, they might want to

You can listen to the Ask the farmer podcast on YouTube, or wherever you get your podcasts

Anthony Hartcher:

sort of show that they're very knowledgeable in the area as well. But there's areas I interview nutritionists and dieticians. However, I don't agree with you or disagree with you, I allow them to share their knowledge and their wisdom and their clinical experience. And the listeners will resonate with their message if it aligns with their values. So I just allow it to flow like that. So essentially, that's the way I do my job in terms of allowing the guests to showcase their talent. I'm showcasing my talent, when is it and what are you doing when you're showcasing your talent? What is it you love talking about what is it you love spending your money on in terms of you just think it's a high value to do that, like it's not a waste of money, it's really important that you do that. So I spend my money on equipment for podcasting and investing in my business because it enables me to enhance and enlighten the well being of others. So that's where my money goes. And obviously into investment because I value financial freedom. I essentially want money to work for me, and I want to do what I enjoy. So I educate myself around how to create financial freedom and now I invest money into generating financial wealth. So I invest into assets and not into liabilities. So I'm not a big person of buying cars or buying sporting toys. I have the bare basics and clothes and everything else. I invest my money into all my family, my family's education, as well as obviously supporting their food needs and shelter. But beyond that, it's really all about creating wealth for them. Have that passive income and then so that I can continue just to do what I love doing and not worry about money, I also invest in my health. So Jim, I invest in recovery, I invest in equipment to help me be the fittest I can be I invest my money into food, good food. So I couldn't be in a good state and an optimal state to showcase my knowledge, like I'm doing now, hopefully. So in terms of when you start to identify these values, like where you spend your money, what you spend your time doing that you don't need to be told to do just do it spontaneously, what energizes you? What do you love talking about in conversations? What are you? Where are you most organized? Where are you most disciplines. So I'm very disciplined. As I mentioned before, in terms of my exercise, regardless of what time I'm flying, I'll find time to exercise. If I'm even in the plane, and I haven't had my morning run or morning exercise, I will then find space on the plane to do something or in my seat, I'll be doing some exercise, or I'll be getting up and moving around regularly. So that's essentially is my health, your health and my family. So there are three highest values and then sitting outside of that fourth is financial freedom. And then the list goes on. However, I really work in those top three. And then the fourth one here, the fourth one sort of sneaks up every now and then. But really, if I'm constantly here, were you educating yourself, were you like so obviously, you're listening to this podcast, you value health, okay, so health is important to you, your own health, what else is important to you? What other podcasts Do you listen to? So this is really about you getting to know yourself, okay, by understanding what you value, and then making sure you plan out your day according to what's important to you. So every day, I'm planning out my education in terms of further learning further educating myself. So I recently last year, did my further education with the Demartini Institute became a fully trained facilitator in the Demartini method, which I'm talking a bit about today. And I did another course with the Demartini Institute, which was around mind body medicine, essentially. So it's understanding the psycho Cymatics of disease. We went through 100 diseases, a mess, sorry, 1000 diseases and went through the psychosomatic factors. And that was really enlightening. So I'm going to obviously be sharing that knowledge on this podcast as well. So really knowing yourself knowing your values, living it, putting it into place everyday, just like I do with my exercise, just like I do with my podcast. It's weekly, right, and sometimes there's a bonus episode. But last two years, I've averaged 55 episodes. So my goal is to continue with weekly podcasts and I've set myself another goal this year is I'm going to do health news update. So essentially, I'm thinking of doing that probably monthly or seasonally is essentially a wrap up of all the good scientific literature what it's saying in terms of the evidence backing around food as medicine, lifestyle medicine around you know, mind mastery, I'm going to be sharing insights as to what's coming out in the literature on this podcast and having a monthly snippets or it could be quarterly, it could be seasonally so still yet to work that out, but it's certainly going to start this year and you'll start to hear my monthly news update essentially now the other thing about knowing yourself is whenever you catch yourself judging right so you actually are judging a person you either judging them in admiration or you're judging them critically. Okay, so you're judged you're so essentially when we judge them in admiration, we're looking up to them and putting ourselves down when we judge them critically, we're essentially putting ourselves up and putting them down so again, it's rise putting ourselves up on a pedestal putting them in a pit or vice versa when you're in aberration yeah in admiration you're putting yourself in a pit them on a pedestal. So essentially, whenever you're judging anyone, it's essentially you're projecting a part that you have disowned in yourself so something you're not loving in yourself, you're projecting onto them and so a way to love that design part of you is essentially look as to when you're doing what you're not liking what they're doing. So whenever I catch myself judging someone, I'll straightaway think, okay, when did I do that? i Yes, I you know, I've done that and today I came across this term ghosting, right so I wasn't quite came across it in social media, and I thought I better look it up just so I understand it. And yes, I've been ghost and I currently been ghosted, and I've done ghosting, so I own that trait or that action. It's an action isn't it? You essentially ignore people or in an inaction that's actually an inaction you're ignoring people so they're sending your your messages and all they're trying to bring you and you're just ignoring them and you're not letting them know why. Okay, so that's why it's ghosting is and essentially, I saw the social media and it was saying you shouldn't ghost and I'm thinking, Well, I'm owning that that's a part of me. That's part of who I am. So when we obviously start projecting and judging others judging people in society for ghosting, then it's essentially a part of us that we're not loving, loving in ourselves, and we're only loving a part of ourselves. And that's the pride side. We're not loving the side that we looked down to the week that we, I guess label is shameful. And we feel guilty for that shameful side. However, if we start looking for when we do it, and then own it and say, Yes, I do that. And there's nothing wrong with that. Like, it's part of being human, right? We go through periods where we don't know some of us were unaware that we're actually doing ghosting. I'm aware of it now. And because I'm aware, I've got that elevated level of awareness. I know I do it, so I'm not going to judge them for doing it. However, I can pick myself up for when I'm doing it and say, okay, better letting them know why I haven't responded or why I'm ignoring them, as opposed to just letting the unknown Okay, so that's the whole ghosting thing, because the other person doesn't know why you're ignoring them. Okay. So that's essentially something I picked myself up doing. Well, I didn't want to judge anyone else for doing it. So I looked at when I've done it, and I've owned it. And I know I do it. It's Yes, it's part of me, it's part of who I am. Essentially, I'm owning my whole self. So yes, I've got a nice side where I'm sharing information, doing what I love. But then when I'm doing low priority, things, like I have been doing such as IoT stuff recently, I've had lots of IT problems, I get frustrated, I get irritable, and I'm actually you could classify me or labeled me as rude to the person that's trying to help me. And again, it's, it's part of that thing, because all I'm human, obviously, and when I'm doing something of low priority, that frustrates me, and then I look for someone else to blame. And then I think well, okay, when have I been on the receiving end? And, you know, what is that like? And I was thinking, Okay, I guess, practice what I preach, and essentially look at the other side as to what are the benefits in me doing solving the IoT problem, or if I don't want to get frustrated, I should delegate it, okay. So if you're doing anything that frustrates you, and you procrastinate doing, then look at delegating, as opposed to continuing to be frustrated, I get frustrated driving. So I generally walk, I ride a good public transport, or asked my wife to drive or someone else to drive because it frustrates me, I get irritable, I get impatient and actually get fined because I'm impatient and irritable. And I'm probably a hazard on the road. So I actually when I can delegate it, but yes, occasionally drive, but not very frequently. I much prefer to walk much prefer to ride to ride my bike, and all public transport. So essentially, you want to catch these times when you're judging and then own it in yourself. When have you done it? When have you done exactly what you're judging and start noting it down until you can say, Yes, I do it just as much as they do it with certainty, absolute certainty, and you just want to get it so it's level. So there's no emotion once the emotion is gone, therefore, the judgments gone, you can see both sides, you can see that it's got a place and hence why it's still around today, why people still do it, otherwise it would be extinct. And so this is all part of knowing yourself is is actually that awareness piece of looking at when you're judging people and what you're judging them for. And then look within you do that self reflection so that you're then looking within yourself, and then you're loving a part of you that you're currently disowning because you're projecting it onto them and judging them for it. And you're not, you're saying, Well, I'm too proud to admit that I do that. But hey, you're human too. And I've realized this, I've actually everything I've observed that I get frustrated or you know, I'm a judge, I've realized that I've done it throughout my life. And so I then just own it. And then that emotion goes and I'm not judging that person, I can put them in my heart, I can, I can better connect with them. Because I see that they've got both sides, I've got both sides. And I can love the other person unconditionally, because I'm not loving them for just if they do this, therefore, they support my values, I really appreciate that you support therefore, you're on my like list or my Christmas card list. However, I know they've got two sides. So when they do something that might violate my values, I understand because I've done it. And I've loved the whole of me and I continue to work on loving the whole of me, I must say it's a journey. But you'll catch yourself judging, I certainly still do. And I think the more you do this self practice in terms of reflecting as to when you've done what you don't like them doing to you.

We also talk about how we clean our own energy in order to find a more balanced and centered way Jeff Levine, if any of that resonates with you Come and join us on bond to the soul.

Anthony Hartcher:

When you own it, and actually own it with certainty, then you will no longer judge them for it, okay, and you'll be able to put them in your heart and be and be grateful for what they do in order to bring it to your attention that you're loving it, or you're designing a part of you, and only loving half of you. So that's really important. So that's the part of the Demartini process is that self reflection as to when you're done, what you're disliking in them, or what you're admiring them. So it's also owning that part that you admire in others and finding it where is it in you it'll be in a different form. So if I admire someone's it intellect, I don't have it i Where do I have that high intellect, it's in a different form. It's in health. Okay, so and I think, yes, I've got that. And so when people when they maybe listen to podcasts, and they go, oh, you know so much about health? Well, that's the area that I value. So I educate in that area, someone else values it, hence, I should delegate more of my it, and I get frustrated, and hence, not take it out on the operator. So that's something I've learned. That's the takeaway. And so when you admire someone, what is it you're admiring, and then find it within you be? It's absolutely in you, it's just that you're too humble to admit it. So this is part of the process of loving you, okay? So when you have that love for yourself, and love the whole of you, you're not going to sneak down into that desire center that I mentioned, that judgment, that area of judgment is essentially that amygdala that will get switched on. And it's all about instinct, and impulse, and essentially, the impulse to get that hamburger, something that you you know, that will take you off track in terms of the path that you want to go on, because you're judging someone else. So if you love yourself more, by seeing what you're disliking in them and seeing that, yeah, you do it just as much as them, you're loving yourself, you're elevating your thinking out of that survival center into that complete awareness, you now see that person for who they are as opposed to judging them, okay, you see them for who they are, and therefore you can love them for who they are. And you can love yourself for who you are. And when you're out of that desire center, that impulse and instinct center, you won't need the hamburger, you won't need the ice cream to calm your emotions, you won't be that you won't have those lower level of emotions such as that frustration, anger or irritable we often look externally to fix that frustration or that anger or that irritability or that anxiousness by looking externally and getting an ice cream, right. So if you ask a better question, and own what you're disliking in someone else, and own it in you, or what you're admiring, and others and you're putting yourself down and you're not putting yourself up level with them by owning that trait, but in a different form within you, then you're going to stay in that amygdala and you're going to essentially desire more of the foods that are comfortable comfort foods. The comfort foods to humans in that site. Survival sense are foods that are highly calorific, you think from a survival point of view, you are wired to want and desire highly calorific foods, because you don't know when you're going to get your next feed. And so we're wired to eat ice cream and hamburgers. And so this is again, the weight loss companies will think that you need to buy their products in order to lose weight. Yes, it can help you initially but what will happen is when the going gets tough and something gets in the way or you perceive it as being in the way something challenging in your life, you'll go into that survival center you'll get and be have that desire for some impulsive action, whether it be buying something so it could be a shopping addiction, it could be a drug addiction, it could be an alcohol addiction. It could be a food addiction, but you'll go to something to comfort you to help relieve the stress or the tension or the feeling and sort of lift your spirits and again those highly calorific foods do this our dopamine for example, the research shows that that in the dopamine, the serotonin and that makes us feel a bit better, right? It lifts our spirits. However, when you lift your mind or elevate your thinking out of the desire center, you won't need that external comfort. You won't need those comfort foods, you will essentially elevate your thinking be very poise centered, confident, you'll be inspired, you'll be grateful you'll be loving life because you're living by what's important to you. You're being authentic, you're recognizing that you're judging you're then looking at what I'm judging what am I designing and me therefore I need to look within me and find it and it could be judging admiration, ly or judging in terms of a something You shamed about or you're, you know, you're projecting it on them as How could you possibly do that? That is disgusting. So essentially, when we're in that judgment, we then stuck in that desire center, we then seek external fulfillment, and we eat their hamburger, which then takes us off that program, or we feel that we've, you know, been guilty, or we've let ourselves down or let someone else down by having that hamburger, most likely yourself. So then you'll start judging yourself, you'll start further feeling guilty. And what does that drive a stronger propensity to have another hamburger or some I'm just gonna have an ice cream because I've stuffed it up, I'm off track, right, the only way to get back on track is to transcend your thinking, lift your thinking out of the animal center out of that survival center into that more transcendent state where we see the world objectively we see Earth as it is, we see people for who they are, we can love them for who they are, we can love what's happened, we can be grateful what's happened because it just is okay, we're not judging it. We're not judging it as tragedy or we're not judging as ecstasy. Again, these are things that are going to make us very one sided and stuck in the Animal Center and a seat more of it, and the weight loss companies love it, they want you to perceive their products as the fix because yes, it's helped you temporarily lose weight, however you went off track gained it all back, and you go back to what helps you lose weight. If you want sustainable weight loss and not yo yoing back and forth on and off diets, then essentially, you need to start asking yourself better questions, transcend your thinking and live by your values and be who you are, be authentic, and essentially go on this path where your vocation is the same as your vacation, and you won't need any of these desires. These animalistic desires, these comfort foods, these, you know, guilty pleasures, we call them, you know, these Shopping, shopping routes that we go on, where we spend a lot of money and we feel good, temporarily until the credit card bill comes in anything all I've ever done at this month. So that's because we're in our Animal Center, and we're looking for external relief. Okay, we're not looking within we're not transcending our thinking. We're not seeing things as they are, we're judging them. And so when you transcend your thinking, you're inspired, you have purpose, and you're thinking, why do I want to sabotage this trajectory I'm on? Why do I want to not feel optimal? So with me, I realize, well, I'm doing what I love doing. I don't desire these other comfort foods, I just eat well, and it comes from within, even though I'm a nutritionist, yes, I'm educated. When I see my clients, they're also educated, they tell me Yeah, I need to eat more vegetables. Yeah, I'm probably not eating enough protein, they tell me what they think that would help their health or from a nutrition point of view. However, it's this animalistic thinking that sends them off course. And again, it will drive them towards pleasures and desires, because that's our desire center. It's our impulse and instinct center. And essentially, they'll think I can't need an external solution for that. But essentially, I can empower them. You're empowering yourself through this podcast. by ascending you're thinking, transcending your thinking, elevating your thinking by asking better questions and getting yourself out of that judgment, animalistic desire Center, also the emotional center, and transcending that into a more objective view of and seeing things as they are, and seeing people for who they are being able to love them for who they are, and being able to see events as things that were just just them and they serve, there was a purpose for them. Because you can see both sides, you're not labeling it, you're not just looking at one side of the event. And it's the same as us if we perceive ourselves as fat, and we're just focused on particular areas of our body that we perceive as fat. Again, when we're dis owning part of us, we're in a process stay in that amygdala. And then we look for to, you know, externally for relief. And essentially, that could be drugs, or that could be as I said, shopping, alcohol could be sex, it could be a gambling, all these areas of addiction. Again, it's people looking externally for a fix where the where it can be resolved internally by just transcending your thinking and that's essentially humans have evolved out of out of that animalistic thinking and just responding to the environment through this process of being challenged and you know, rising up to the challenge and transcending their thinking and then being able to have a vision have a foresight, as opposed to just reacting to the external stimulus, we can actually start planning out our life and seeing it objectively planning What could possibly derail us and then putting in plans to prevent that derailment? So that's foresight. Right? The animals just respond to what they have around us. And we will to when we're in that animal part of the brain. And so if you're finding yourself getting irritated, easy or aggressive, easy or angry easily, you're in that emotional center you in that desire center. And essentially, you need to ask yourself, what is it that I'm not seeing this? You've only you're only seeing one side? And what is the balancing side to what you're not seeing? If you're seeing something as all bad? Then ask yourself what's good about it? Okay, balance that you got to start asking the balancing question. So then you have an objective view of what's happened. And again, this happened during COVID. Right, so in COVID, initially, it was all bad, because people were locked up, they couldn't do what they wanted to do. And they felt the freedom was taken from them. But then as COVID went on, they started to see the good side and the things they liked about it. And so when they emerged, depending on whether they had a, you know, they could have thought that COVID was COVID, I like this about it, but I didn't like this and you could then neutralize the whole COVID experience by looking at all the benefits to you and all the other things of disservice or disadvantage or not, you know, the cons, so to speak, and you could actually find it, so that was neutralized. So there's no emotional thing attached to COVID I can see plenty of blessings or COVID for my business. And what I do, it got me into podcasting, I wouldn't be sharing this today, if it wasn't for COVID. However, yes, I didn't like the restrictions and lack of freedom. But I also was able to spend more time with my family and really bond and we had fun together. And so again, we start to see as time goes on, you can ask yourself a better question and transcend your thinking and, and see it for what it is, as opposed to waiting for the time lag and then thinking, Ah, that was the benefit for what's happened back then. And I can see how it's worked out. And it was just meant to happen, or it was just a thing that happened. But you know, and it's it served me as much as it was disservice at the time, but I can see how it served me. And that's the, I guess the benefit of time, but you don't want that time to dissipate. Because essentially, when you're emotionally charged and you're hold that charge and that resentment over that time period, it creates illness in the body, okay, so essentially you want to dissolve it when you can. So essentially what I've shared is how to love yourself. First of all, know who you are, how to love yourself, ask better questions, love the whole you love the whole other person and essentially live by your values. Be yourself be authentic and catch your moment when you're being a bit cocky or bit too proud and think okay, what am I not seeing? I'm only seeing or good okay, what are the negatives of what's just happened and you'll start to you'll start to come up with and then then the cockiness that proudness will dissolve and then you'll transcend your thinking into more inspired thinking that more gratitude and love and seeing things with both sides as opposed to just one sided because it will catch up with you like just like with cryptocurrency people initially just saw one side of cryptocurrency you could only make money and then over time they saw the other side. Yes, you can lose money too. Okay, we all know that. And last point I want to finish on is not comparing yourself to others. And this is pretty much at the beginning I mentioned why compare yourself to someone else when you're that's you've been brought to this world with unique talent, showcase that unique talent to the world by living by what's important to you, and you will excel okay, I'm doing far better than what I was as a chemical engineer today as a healthy man because I'm doing what's truly important to me. And this is an area that I'm inspired in and you are probably listening because I sounded inspired in terms of what I do and it might be attractive and then health knowledge the guests I attract, you might think well it's Anthony is a person worth you know, following because he has great holistic view on health, he shares mind tips, he shares body tips and he's a holistic person and he's a holistic healer and he's imparting empowering you I'm giving away this information, I want you to be empowered, and so that you can make better decisions around your health so that you're not governed by the external world and driven to just go from diet to diet to diet and thinking this is a silver bullet I can't the silver bullets within you living by your values and not comparing yourself to others being the authentic us so that you can shine and not shrink, okay, you want to be the magnificent you and be the best you as opposed to being second to someone else. Okay. So really, really just focus on the actions that are taking you towards what's important to you. So I focus every day on looking after my health, serving your health imparting empowering knowledge to you. That's my vocation. And then I'm also supporting and loving my family. So there must be highest values. I'm making sure I'm you know, spending time In all these three areas every day, and yes, there'll be a little imbalance at times. But that's the ebbs and flows. That's the dynamic yin and yang nature, okay to Dynamics, a perfect state. It's essentially an ebbing, flowing dynamicism quantum entanglement if you want to refer to metaphysics. The flow comes in terms of the words.
What else is important to you?
When you’re doing low priority things, it’s easy to blame someone else.
When you own what you dislike in others, you will no longer judge them for it.
When we’re stuck in the desire center, we then seek external fulfilment.
When you transcend your thinking, you’re inspired, you have purpose and you have a vision.
Don’t compare yourself to others
